could cut up to 1,500 jobs at a plant in Ohio that builds the Chevy Cruze, according to reports on Friday. The plant would eliminate shifts to face dwindling demand for the compact car. GM earlier this month said Chevrolet was the industry’s fastest-growing full-line brand, but largely on the strength of the brand’s SUVs and pickup trucks as well as larger sedans. Shares of GM rose 0.2% in late trading after ending the regular session down 0.3%.
